Welcome back 2024-25

Good morning friends and colleagues, 

I am not sure who will be starting tomorrow or if you have already started or are retired, but this time of year always reminds me of being a kid and returning to school. Last week, I bought new school shoes and a few new tops to go with my scrubs. That always makes me feel like I am ready! But am I ready is the big question.

I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits as we welcome back another school year. It is with great pleasure that I reach out to extend my support and assistance to you, as valued members and future members of the Rhode Island Certified School Nurse Association. As part of RICSNA's commitment to your well-being and professional development, I want to encourage you to take time for yourselves, to recharge, and to focus on self-care amidst your devoted service to the students, staff, and school community.

Furthermore, I am pleased to inform you that we are eagerly anticipating the commencement of the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) Workforce Development Grant. Our association is dedicated to utilizing this grant to further enhance our support for school nurses across the state, and we are truly excited about the opportunities and resources that will soon be available to empower your vital work. Please save the date: Wednesday, October 16, 2024, for our fall educational event to be held at the Crowne Plaza.  

Please do not hesitate to reach out to us for any assistance or if you have any specific needs that we can address. We are here to advocate for you and provide the necessary support for your professional endeavors. You will be hearing more about the grant and a one-year paid membership to our organization in the coming days and weeks.  I can’t wait to share!!
