Meeting Cancelation

Member Update:

Good morning members,

I did not hear from anyone about wanting to join in on a Zoom Meeting so I am canceling this Thursday's meeting.  It is a very busy time of the summer. I have heard from members of the executive board who are away on vacation and unable to attend.  I also am keenly aware that many of you may not be reading these emails until late August when we return to work.

I will keep you all updated as to our grant progress.  I have provided the date of our next educational offering so please save Wednesday, October 16, 2024 on your calendar.  There are still many openings on our Board.  Please consider:

  • Educational Committee (assist with setting up, organizing and coordinating event.  NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY, I will work with you)
  • New England Conference Committee - Sam Pauquette is our representative.  She will head a subcommittee as we move closer to our RI Conference in a few years.
  • President Elect is open - This position should be someone with board experience and an interest in running to organization.  I will remain in the Past President role and mentor whomever steps into the role.
  • Scholarship - Organize raffles at events to raise money, post scholarship information, organize candidates and subcommittee to review applications.
  • School Nurse of the Year - Send out criteria, organize candidate submissions and subcommittee to review applications.
  • Sunshine - send cards and gifts as appropriate. Arrange for Retirement gifts.

To my Existing Board Members, I am waiting for final grant approval to have our summer work meeting.  Once we get the go ahead we will need to spend timed sorting out the details.  So please anticipate hearing from me soon! (hopefully)

I hope everyone gets the chance to see the Migration of the Elephants in Newport.  I hope to get there soon.  There are Trolls to see in the woods at Ninigret Park in Charlestown; they too are amazing.  Take time to relax and reset as this is gong to be an amazing year for School Nurses in Rhode Island.

Warmest Regards,

Michelle Iacoi
