RI 2022 - 2023 School Nurse of the Year Application is now available

RI School Nurse of the Year 2022-2023

Annually, RICSNTA publicly recognizes a Rhode Island school nurse who has demonstrated excellence in school nursing practice and leadership in school health.

Applications are now being accepted.              Deadline for nominations 1/20/2023.

Eligibility

To be an active or associate member as defined in the RICSNTA By-laws (rev 5-22) . 

One (1) nominee from each NASN affiliate (RICSNTA) will be selected and honored at the RICSNTA Nurses Day celebration in May, and their name moved forward to NASN for recognition at the NASN annual conference in June.

Nominee must be:

  1. A registered professional nurse.
  2. A current member of RICSNTA and NASN and has maintained membership for at least two years.
  3. Active Member:  Registered Professional Nurses who are certified as school nurses by the Rhode Island Department of Education.   or
  4. Associate Member: Registered nurse who is not certified on the state level, not eligible for active membership, but who provides full time services to students as a school nurse. 
  5. Currently employed in a full time position working as a school nurse in RI.

Nominations

The nominator does not need to be a RICSNTA member but needs to have a direct working relationship with the candidate.

Prior to submission the nominator must inform the nominee as the process requires them to submit their current resume.
